The Mid Cape Chorus is in its 42nd year. Starting as a small group in 1971, it has now reached an enrollment of 70 members coming from 15 Cape communities.
As a non-auditioning community chorus our mission is to offer singing enjoyment and good choral skills to singers under the direction of a professional conductor and accompanist. The programs consist of show tunes, light classical music, spirituals, folk songs, and appropriate holiday music to present in concert for requesting groups - clubs, civic organizations, senior centers, and nursing homes - principally during May and December, but also at certain holiday times on special request.
The Choraliers is a group of 25 singers, selected from the larger chorus in answer to the need for a smaller choral group for certain venues. Their programs are usually the same as the parent chorus but may add music requested for special occasions.
Ruth McKendree Treen is Music Director and Conductor along with Art McManus as Accompanist and Assistant Conductor. Both Ruth and Art are well known and respected in music circles on Cape Cod.
The Chorus rehearsals are held every Monday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., from September through May, at the Dennis Senior Center, Route 134, Dennis.
